In Los Angeles, there’s endless fun for every family member
With more than 3.5 million fun lovers, and plenty of options for excitement every day, there’s plenty of fun things to do in Los Angeles! From its coasts to downtown, there’s an option for everyone to have the perfect day, from beachy chill to big-city modern thrills. Of the many things to do in LA, one of the most iconic is catching some cool waves at one of its many famous beaches. Whether young and hip, or older and still rockin’ those surfer vibes, nothing relaxes the mind like surfing waves and then chilling on the beach. And, if you get tired of the world-famous golden California sunshine for a while, there are plenty of indoor options as well to keep cool.
For starters, you could spend the day museum-hopping, checking out the hottest and most cutting-edge art installations and displays throughout the city. Plus, this being LA and all, you might very well run into one of the artists themselves – or even a real-life celebrity! Or, if the celebrity and influencer scene itself is more your style, you can take epic tours of the one and only Hollywood right here. Whether or not you come face-to-face with anyone special directly, you’ll feel your heart beat faster just being in the presence of such awe-inspiring figures. For folks who prefer a less poppy celebrity scene, there’s always the promise of catching a game with the biggest names in sports in action.
Of course, of all the things to do in Los Angeles, one of the most popular is a day at an amusement or water park. From the youngest to the oldest member of your family, it’s hard not to get excited over a long day taking in high-tech modern attractions. Not to mention, this being California, you’re guaranteed to have access to only the biggest and best brand-new attractions you won’t find elsewhere. Of all the fun places to go in Los Angeles, no park is better than our very own Raging Waters Los Angeles, one of the best water parks in California! It’s the perfect attraction for every single member of your family, from relaxing to heart-racing, and promising feel-good feelings for all.
Spin, scream and feel the fun on our rides and slides
To prove we’ve got the very best fun things to do in Los Angeles, we’ve picked out our top five attractions that are fun for the whole family! With variety like this, we promise there’s something that everyone will enjoy – even if it’s just cheering on the braver members of the fam.
Aqua Rocket: A High-Tech Blast to the Moon!
To start our list, we’re leading with our most high-tech and highly popular attraction here at Raging Waters Los Angeles, the Aqua Rocket. Our top pick, it lets you experience all the thrills and chills of a traditional roller coaster, yet on a totally NOT traditional water ride! With up to three other family members, you’ll hop aboard your very own rocket of a raft to be propelled uphill with hydromagnetic technology. At a speedy 30 miles-per-hour, you’ll race over a series of peaks and drops, screaming and laughing all the way. Just note now to hold on tight, though, since Aqua Rocket lives up to its name, feeling like a shot straight up to the stars!
High Extreme: a chill kind of thrill that’s fun for all
If you prefer adrenaline rushes that are a little more relaxed, and where you get a bit of “you-time” in as well, check-out High Extreme. Instead of a group raft, you’re all by yourself here – and on a mat you get to lay down and slide head-first on. It’s a whole new kind of water park thrill, but with the familiar thrill of body surfing many of us have felt at the beach. You and a family member can each choose between one of two 600-foot-long flumes, and then get ready, set, and launch off to race down! You’ll bank and rock off turns for a wind-whipped ride of up to 35 miles per hour, yet stay chill with beachy body-surfing vibes.
Ragin’ Racer: letting families show their Raging Waters spirit!
If you and your family are the competitive type, and are looking for an attraction that lets you face off and cool off, Ragin’ Racer is perfect. With eight lanes of head-first, side-by-side racing, you can go up against the whole extended family at once – or just face off against another family altogether! Like High Extreme, this ride is taken lying down on a water mat, and invites even reluctant thrill seekers to enjoy one splashing round with everyone. With the wind in your face and your pulse pounding as you race down the swirling lanes, you can watch your competition with bated breath. Or, if you’re the less competitive type, Ragin’ Racer still just makes one of the best opportunities for group family fun all day.
Dr. Von Dark’s Tunnel of Terror is one of our scariest slides!
For the older kids or teens who need an even bigger thrill in their day, Dr. Von Dark’s Tunnel of Terror is a must-ride experience. Grab a buddy (or maybe a sibling you’re a little bit salty with) and get ready to plunge down a breathtaking 40-foot drop into darkness. Oh, and when we say darkness, we mean TOTAL darkness - so you and that “buddy” might end up bonding pretty darn quick on the way down! With back-to-back vertical banks and a pair of high-speed 360 degree spins, you’ll be holding on tight and screaming along together. But, once the two of you splash down back into that golden California sunlight, you might have a new appreciation for it (and each other!).
Neptune’s Fury makes even the Doctor’s ride look tame!
Last but not least on our list of these fun things to do in Los Angeles, we have Neptune’s Fury, our most ragin’ ride yet. If you thought the Doc’s ride made for just two was wild, try a trip through total darkness with double the people! Here you and up to three family members will hop aboard your very own raft for a 600-foot-long trip, which twists and turns into a mystery. Plunging down a 60-foot drop at 30 miles per hour, you’ll feel the fury of Neptune and the rush of dark gravity and scream. But, once you and the whole fam splash down safe and sound, you’ll probably be laughing and ready to do it all again.
